Tout un hiver sans feu (One Long Winter Without Fire) au Solothurner Filmtage en Suisse
Nature gives life and takes it back: First the fire rages, and then the snow quietly covers the ashes. The winter frost of Brévine and the heat of the Von-Roll steelworks underscore the story of Jean and Laure, a couple put to the test by a tragic event. While Laure seeks help in a clinic, Jean immerses himself in his work at the foundry amidst burning sparks, submerged in the icy winter of his soul. There, he meets a woman and learns that he can feel warmth again. Christmas time and a New Year’s Eve spent with foreign factory workers give Jean hope that in spring, the grass will grow over the wounds. Greg Zglinski’s film was shot in various locations in the Jura Arc and won the Swiss Film Prize for Best Feature Film in 2005.
